THE LAT LONG GIVEN IS AN AVERAGED CENTRALIZED LOCATION. THE ACTUAL DEPOSIT RANGES FROM 13-39-30N TO 13-44-00N AND FROM 084-46-00W TO 084-46-30W.
  • DOWN RIVER ALONG THE YY (WAY) RIVER FROM FORMER DAM/HYDROELECTRIC PLANT. LAT LONG GIVEN ABOVE IS FOR CENTRALIZED LOCATION. THE DEPOSIT ACTUALLY RANGES FROM 13-51-00N TO 13-54-00N AND FROM 084-32-00W TO 084-35-00W. LOCATIONS FOR PROSPECTS ARE AS FOLLOWS: SAN JUAN PROSPECT 13-52-15N, 084-34-30W; LAS BOCAS (PALENQUE) 13-53-15N, 084-32-30W; JIM PAN 13-52-15N, 084-32-15W.

Deposit ONE OR MORE N TRENDING FAULTS WITH LIMONITE AND MALACHITE GOUGE CUTTING ACROSS HEAVILY WEATHERED VOLCANICS AT SAN JUAN (OROURKE, 1966). OUTCROPS OF MALACHITE AND CHALCOCITE 20-25NE/50-55NW IN VIOLET GRAY LAVA BEDS, 2 STRINGERS 12-16 IN THICK IN JOHN'S CREEK AND LONG CREEK FLOAT CU OUTCROPS. VUGGY QUARTZ VEIN IN LA BOCA (MCDONALD, 1946). PYRITE AND CHALCOPYRITE QUARTZ VEIN 3.5 M WIDE IN JIM PAN, POSSIBLE FAULT ALONG CREEK (OROURKE, 1966). CHALCOPYRITE BEARING QUARTZ FLOATS CAN BE FOUND IN MOST CREEKS IN THE EL SALTO AREA, LESS OFTEN CHALCOCITE IS FORMED IN GOUGED SHEAR ZONES OR BORNITE AND CHALCOPYRITE IN QUARTZ/CALCITE GANGUE. VISIBLE GOLD, PYRITE AND CHALCOPYRITE IN FIRST QUARTZ VEIN OUTCROPPING ALONG YY RIVER, AND PYRITE AND CHALCOPYRITE (MEILLON, 1970).
