Deposit MARBLE CONTAINS SMALL AMOUNTS OF PYRITE THAT OXIDEIZE WHEN EXPOSED TO WEATHER AND STAIN THE MARBLE. THE MARBLE IS TYPICALLY FINE GRAINED AND JOINTED. THE ZONES OF HIGH CALCIUM CARBONATE ROCKS ARE SEPARATED BY ZONES OF DOLOMITE.
