COMPANIA SAN JOSE CONTROLLED THE SAN JOAQUIN, PRESERVERANCIA, LA ANGELITA, AND SAN ANDRES MINES. COMPANIA ECONOMIA CONTROLLED THE DEMOCRACIA MINE. EL COBRE MINES INSTALLED A SMELTER (1904) IN 1905 PRODUCED SOME MATTE OF 50% CU, WAS NOT ECONOMIC SO WAS ABANDONED.
