| Deposit | FOLDED AND STRATABOUND LENSES OVERLIE MASSIVE SULFIDES IN THE LEONILA-GRACIELA SYNCLINE AND RECUMBENT ANTICLINE OF JUANITA. SILICEOUS STOCKWORKS (IRREGULAR MASSES) UNDERLIE MASSIVE SULFIDE ZONES CONSISTING OF QUARTZ-SERICITE-CHLORITE WITH PYRITE, SPHALERITE, CHALCOPYRITE, GALENA, TETRAHEDRITE, NATIVE AU (USUALLY IN DACITIC ROCKS). LOCATED IN A ROOF PENDANT OF CASMA FACIES SUBMARINE VOLCANICLASTICS, LAVA FLOWS, TUFF BRECCIAS, AND INTERCALCATIONS OF LIMESTONE AND MARL INTRUDED BY AT LEAST 2 SEPARATE UNITS OF THE UPPER CRETACEOUS COASTAL BATHOLITH - RICARDO PALMA TONALITE (K/AR, 82 MY) AND CAUCHACAYLLA MONZOGRANITE (K/AR, 65 MY). MASSIVE SULFIDES ARE BANDED; SULFIDES ARE RECRYSTALLIZED. BARITE LENSES, 80% BARITE, GRANOBLASTIC. METAMORPHOSED TO HORNBLENDE HORNFELS FACIES LOCALLY AT 2.1-2.6 KB AND 300-500 DEGREES C. |
