General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit DEPOSIT CONSISTS OF APPROXIMATELY 96% IGNEOUS INTRUSIVE ROCK CLASTS (QUARTZ DIORITE AND GRANODIORITE) , AND THE OTHER 4% CONSISTS OF QUARTZ, SEDIMENTARY AND METAMORPHIC ROCKS. THE MATRIX IS ARGILLACEOUS WITH BANDS OF OXIDATION OCCURRING IN THE BASAL PART OF THE CONGLOMERATE, AND THIS IS WHERE GOLD NUGGETS AND FLAKES ARE DISSEMINATED. THE EXTENT OF THE DEPOSIT IS LIMITED; THICKNESS IN SOME SPOTS DOESN'T EXCEED 2 M.
Deposit BUENAVENTURA (1975) REPORTS THAT THE DEPOSIT IS OF LITTLE ECONOMIC IMPORTANCE BECAUSE IT IS VERY LOCAL AND HAS BEEN EXTENSIVELY WORKED. THERE ARE ONLY POOR REMNANTS OF THE DEPOSIT LEFT.
