Deposit THE DEPOSIT IS IN A CONGLOMERATE WHICH CONSISTS OF CLASTS OF IGNEOUS, METAMORPHIC, AND SEDIMENTARY ROCKS IN A MATRIX OF CLAYEY SAND. GOLD FLAKES AND NUGGETS AND OTHER ABUNDANT HEAVY MINERALS ARE FOUND IN THE MATRIX.
Deposit BUENAVENTURA (1975) REPORTS THAT THE DEPOSIT WAS WORKED EXHAUSTIVELY, AND THAT ONLY SMALL AREAS WITH LOW GOLD CONTENT REMAIN.
