  • WORKINGS CONSIST OF A LARGE OPEN CUT APPROXIMATELY 90 FEET LONG, 30 FEET WIDE AND 20 FEET DEEP, WITH DUMP MATERIAL ON THE DOWNSLOPE. CUT TRENDS N 68 DEGREES 3. OPEN CUT IS PARTIALLY CAVED AND GROWN OVER. FIELD EXAMINATION CONDUCTED 10/14/85.

  • NO HISTORY IS KNOWN ABOUT THE PROPERTY. LOCAL RESIDENTS KNEW OF GENERAL LOCATION OF "SOME DIGGINS" NORTHEAST OF THE FARTS MINE ALONG THE HILLSIDE, BUT DID NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WERE DUG OR BY WHOM. MOST LIKELY, WORKINGS WERE DUG AT THE SAME TIME OF THE FARTS AND MASSUM MINES. DEVELOPMENT BY SURFACE WORKINGS ONLY.

Deposit DEPOSIT NOT EXPOSED NOR DESCRIBED IN THE LITERATURE. SMALL TABULAR CRYSTAL MASSES FOUND IN THE DUMP. AS WITH OTHER DEPOSITS IN THE DISTRICT, BARITE OCCURS AS VEINS AND REPLACEMENT MASSES IN FRACTURED BEDROCK, AND IRREGULAR FRAGMENTS IN THE SOIL.
