    Overall width 15.24M

Comments on the workings information

  • WORKINGS CONSIST OF 2 OPEN SHAFTS AND A CLUSTER OF SMALL PITS AND TRENCHES. EASTERN SHAFT IS APPROXIMATELY 6 X 10 FEET AND 40 (?) FEET DEEP. APPROXIMATELY 70 FEET OT THE WEST, A SECOND SHAFT WITH 10 X 20 FOOT DECLINE CUT 60 DEGREES IN A S10W DIRECTION ABOUT 30 DEEP, THEN A 5 FOOT X 5 FOOT SHAFT OF UNKNOWN DEPTH WAS FOUND. NUMEROUS SHALLOW OPEN PITS 15 TO55 FEET IN DIAMETER AND 5 TO 10 FEET DEEP IS FOUND ALONG HILLSIDE. SURFACE WORKINGS ARE PARTIALLY FILLED IN WITH ROCK DEBRIS AND GROWN OVER. FIELD EXAMINATION CONDUCTED 12/4/85.

Comments on development

  • EXPLORATION BY SMALL PITS AND 2 OPEN SHAFTS. WORKINGS ARE NOT CONTINUOUS FROM HENDERLITE MINE: THEEREFORE, THIS LISTED AS A SEPARATE PROSPECT. THE 2 OPEN SHAFTS ARE STABLE AND IN FAIRLY GOOD CONDITION, AND NOT FILLED WITH DEBRIS OR TRASH, SUGGESTING THE SHAFTS MAY HAVE BEEN SUNK MORE RECENTLY THAN THE 1880'S.

Deposit Discovery Year: 1875 ? - 1885 ?
Deposit DESCRIPTION HERE IS BASED UPON SIMILAR DEPOSITS FOUND WITHIN THE DISTRICT. BARITE OCCURS AS IRREGULAR FRAGMENTS IN THE RESIDUAL CLAY AND AS VEINS AND REPLACEMENT MASSES IN FACTURES IN THE DOLOMITE. DEPOSIT IS NOT EXPOSED IN THE WORKINGS.
Deposit SURFACE WORKINGS ARE NOT CONTINUOUS AND APPEAR TO BE TO THE NORTH OF THE HENDERLITE MINE TREND. THEREFORE THIS AREA IS ENTERED AS A SEPERATE PROSPECT. ; INFO.SRC : 3 FIELD OBSERV; 5 PERS COMM
