  • Four Shafts Were Sunk Here Sometime Prior To the Civil War. The Deepest Was 96 Feet and Exposed A 30 Inch Vein. The Ore Was Said To Carry Gold, But A Later Analysis Shows Only Pyrite and Quartz.
  • FOUR SHAFTS WERE SUNK HERE SOMETIME PRIOR TO THE CIVIL WAR. THE DEEPEST WAS 96 FEET AND EXPOSED A 30 INCH VEIN. THE ORE WAS SAID TO CARRY GOLD, BUT A LATER ANALYSIS SHOWS ONLY PYRITE AND QUARTZ.
