  • 2 OPEN CUTS WERE APPROXIMATELY 61 M (200 FT) LONG, 7.6 M (25 FT) WIDE, AND 4.6 M (15 FT) DEEP. ONE SHALLOW SHAFT WAS ALSO WORKED. NUMEROUS OTHER TRENCHES AND PITS WERE ALSO DUG. THE SHAFT WAS 3 M (10 FT) IN DIAMETER.

  • THIS MINE IS REPORTED TO HAVE OPENED ABOUT THE SAME TIME AS THE CEDAR RUN MINE. THE WORKINGS INCLUDE OPEN CUTS AND TRENCHES, PITS, AND SHAFTS. NO PRODUCTION FIGURES ARE AVAILABLE, BUT IT IS REPORTED TO HAVE BEEN SMALL.

SHALE CEMENTED BY BARITE, QUARTZ, AND CALCITE AND BARITE NODULES IN RESIDUAL CLAY OCCUR ALSO. NO BEDROCK IS EXPOSED IN THE WORKINGS. THE NORTHERN MOST TRENCH STILL CONTAINS BARITE.
