  • 2 CAVED PITS MEASURING 3M BY 1.3M AND 9.2M BY 2M; BOTH WITH RIM DUMPS AND A MAXIMUM DEPTH OF 1M WERE REPORTED BY SWEET (1979). CREDNER REPORTED 3 SHAFTS HAD BEEN SUNK ON THE VEIN TO DEPTHS OF 15, 9.1, AND 7.6 M (50, 30, AND 25 FT) RESPECTIVELY. THEY WERE ALL CAVED IN 1865 WHEN CREDNER VISITED THE MINE.

Deposit THE VEIN WAS 0.8 TO 0.9 M (2.5 TO 3 FT) WIDE AND IN A GANGUE OF QUARTZ WAS AURIFEROUS PYRITE, NATIVE GOLD AND IRON OXIDE. THE RED, TOAMY TOPSOIL ALSO CONTAINED GOLD IN REMUNERATIVE QUANTITY?
