General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit THOUGH TWO SEPARATE WORKINGS, THE LITERATURE DOES NOT DISTINGUISH WELL BETWEEN THE GRINDSTONE AND NEW GRINDSTONE MINES. WATSON (T L, 1907, MINERAL RESOURCES OF VIRGINIA: LYNCHBURG, VA, J P BELL CO, 618 P) REFERS TO EXISTENCE OF MINE. THE UPDATING REPORTER CONSIDERS THE GRINDSTONE TO BE AN OLDER WORKING, POSSIBLY PRE-1900, WHILE THE NEW GRINDSTONE INCLUDES THOSE WORKINGS REFERRED TO BY MCCASKEY (1911, 1912). ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 3 FIELD OBSERV
