  • FOUR QUARRIES. MAIN QUARRY MALNATI PINK QUARRY OWNED BY ANGELO MALNATI IN 1911. QUARRY OPENED IN 1900. TOPO SHEET SHOWS QUARRY ABOUT 700 FEET LONG TRENDING ENE., ABOUT 150 FEET WIDE NORTH TO SOUTH, AND MORE THAN 75 FEET DEEP. LOCATED ON NORTHERN PART OF GRANITE DIKE ABOUT 2000 FEET LONG. THE NORTHERN PART OF THE DIKE IS ABOUT 1100 FEET LONG, 40 FEET THICK, WITH STRIKE N. 65 DEG. EAST AND DIP ABOUT 20 DEG. SOUTH. THE SHEETS ARE 3 TO 10 FEET THICK. THE COLOR IS MEDIUM PINKISH GRAY OF EVEN GRAINED FINE GRANITIC TEXTURE. THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE GRANITE DIKE IS ABOUT 900 FEET LONG, 40 FEET THICK, WITH STRIKE N. 45 DEG. EAST AND DIP ABOUT 30 DEG. SE. THE SHEETS ARE UP TO 10 FEET THICK. THE COLOR IS MEDIUM PINKISH GRAY OF EVEN GRAINED VERY FINE GRANITIC TEXTURE. THREE QUARRIES PRESENT, LOCATED 300 FEET, 600 FEET AND 900 FEET FROM THE MALNATI PINK QUARRY. THE LARGEST OF THE THREE QUARRIES, IS THE CARLSON QUARRY AT 600 FEET DISTANCE. IT OPENED IN 1900 AND IN 1911 WAS 125 FEET
  • LONG, 75 FEET WIDE AND 10 TO 30 FEET DEEP. ONE PEGMATITE DIKE PRESENT. THE OWNER IN 1911 WAS PETER M CARLSON WITH THE QUARRY NAMED THE GOLDEN PINK QUARRY CO. ALL PRODUCTION FROM KNOWN QUARRIES USED FOR MONUMENT STONE.
