  • OWNED BY JACOB ORZECH IN 1944. BETWEEN 1880 AND 1900 MINED FOR MICA, FELDSPAR, BERYL. SINCE 1936 MINED BY ORZECH'S SONS FOR GEM BERYL CRYSTALS COMMONLY 3 INCHES LONG, 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER, AND SOME MORE THAN 12 INCHES IN DIAMETER. WORKINGS TWO OPEN CUTS. ONE QUARRY 420 FEET LONG, AND 60 FEET WIDE AND DEEP ON PEGMATITE BODY THAT AVERAGES 30 FEET THICK, WITH STRIKE N. 55 DEG. EAST, DIP 60 DEG. NW. THE OTHER QUARRY IS 90 FEET LONG, 40 FEET WIDE, AND 20 FEET DEEP ON 4 PEGMATITE DIKES THAT STRIKE N. 40 DEG. EAST AND DIP NORTH AT MODERATE TO STEEP ANGLES. THE DIKES RANGE FROM 5 TO 20 FEET THICK, MINED CHIEFLY FOR FELDSPAR. MINED FOR MICA FOR TWO WEEKS IN 1944 BY CYRIL ULMAN.
