HE DID NOT FIND SOURCE ROCK OF CASSITERITE BUT SUGGESTS IT MIGHT BE "METAMORPHOSED QUARTZ-PORPHYRY ERUPTIVES" CUTTING PRECAMBRIAN ITACOLOMY QUARTZITE. THIS ON BASIS OF MINERS ASSERTIONS THAT TOPAZ FOUND IN PLACERS IS SATELLITE MINERAL TO CASSITERITE. BARBOSA FOUND TOPAZ IN QUARTZ VEINS CUTTING THE QUARTZ-PORPHYRY.
