ANALYSIS OF SAMPLE FROM UPPER LAYERS SHOWED 13.4% TIO2, 6.5% ZRO2, 11.7% FE, AND 0.09% EQUIVALENT THO2 WHILE ONE FROM THE LOWER LAYERS SHOWED 24.1% TIO2, 18.1% ZRO2, 17.8% FE, AND 0.15% EQUIVALENT THO2. THE POTENTIAL SOURCES OF TITANIFEROUS SANDSTONE IN 16 UTAH DEPOSITS, INCLUDING THE ESCALANTE, ARE ESTIMATED AT 1,043,000 ST WITH WEIGHTED AVERAGED GRADE PERCENTS OF 17.98 TIO2, 5.67 ZRO2, 20.98 FE, AND 0.01 EQUIVALENT THO2.
