Deposit RED SOILS ARE DERIVED FROM LATERIZATION OF ADJACENT BASALT. THE BAUXITE NODULES WERE FORMED FROM LESS ALTERED BASALTIC CORES, WHICH WERE REPLACED BY GIBBSITE.
