Deposit SEVERAL VEINS IN THE DISTRICT STRIKING FROM N-20 W. TO N. VARY IN LENGTH FROM 150 TO 1500 M TO DEPTHS OF 70 TO 300 M. THE WIDTH VARY BETWEEN 80 TO 200 CM. SMALLER DEPOSITS THE AMISTAD (40) AND BARRO NEGRO (41) ARE ABOUT 40 AND 50 KM NW OF MUENDO NUEVO. INTERSECTING N45E AND N50W FRACTURES, VEINLETS LESS THAN 1 CM THICK AND LESS THAN 10 CM APART. MOLYBDENITE AND PYRITE CONSTITUTE 90% OF SULFIDES, HUBNERITE OCCURS ERRATICALLY IN VEINLETS.
Deposit Discovery Year: PRIOR TO 20TH CENTURY
Deposit ONE VEIN ALONG THE CONTACT 40 TO 50 METERS BELOW THE SURFACE IS 3 TO 4 M. WIDE; ANOTHER VEIN IN PORPHYRY IS 7 M WIDE. AT DEPTH THE COPPER IS IN VEINS BOTH AT KATANGA AND QUIBIO. LENTICULAR MASSES OF HEMATITE-MAGNETITE AS MUCH AS 25 METERS WIDE OCCUR NEAR THE HORNBLENDE-DIORITE STOCK AT QUIBIO - TWO OTHER SMALL ORE BODIES AT LOURA AND IMPERIO CONTAIN SOME OREA A20 4
