  • EXPLORED IN 1917-1918 BY ANDES EXPLORATION, SEVERAL COMPANIES INCLUDING AMERICAN SMELTING, HOCHSCHILD, KENNECOTT AND CERRO DE PASCO IN 1940'S DID EXPLORATION; IN 1952 CERRO TOOK AU OPTION DRILLED 7 - 780 M HOLES AND SAMPLED SURFACE PROVING 6.5 MILLION TONS OF OXIDIZED MATERIAL OF 3.0% CU AND 68000 TONS OF SULFIDES OF 3.5% CU; IN 1971 CONCESSIONS WENT TO MINEROPERU, WHO DRILLED 33,298 M OF DIAMOND CORE PROVING 30 MILLION METRIC TONS OF SULFIDE ORE. ; ECON.COM: CONCENTRATOR CAPACITY 8000 MT/DAY (1990) WITH FEED GRADE OF 1.72% CU, 0.482 OZ/MT AG AND 0.0148 OZ/MT AU.
