Deposit THE TITANIUM MINERAL IN THE CUMURUXATIBA BEACH DEPOSIT IS CONSIDERED TO BE PSEUDOBROOKITE (FE2TIO5) AND NOT ILMENITE (FETIO3) GIVING RISE TO THE PROBLEM OF REDUCING THE FE2O3 TO FEO. THIS IS DONE BY ADDING SCRAP IRON TO THE ORE BUT THIS PROCESS ALSO ADDS PHOSPHOROUS WHICH DULLS THE WHITE PIGMENT.
