Comments on the geologic information

  • COUNTRY ROCK IS MEDIUM-GRAINED BIOTITE QUARTZ DIORITE. THE AZURITA VEIN, STRIKE N70 DEG E, DIP. 60 DEG-90 DEG NW, IS ALONG A SHEAR ZONE AND CONSISTS MAINLY OF 150 CM OF BRECCIATED WALL ROCK NEARLY COMPLETELY REPLACED BY QUARTZ AND CALCITE, WITH DISSEMINATED CHALCOPYRITE, PYRITE, AND A LITTLE GALENA. FOR ABOUT 40 M FROM THE SURFACE, THE VEIN WAS STRONGLY LEACHED AND CONTAINED ONLY MODERATE AMOUNTS OF COPPER. BETWEEN DEPTHS OF 40 AND 85 M. APPROXIMATELY, A ZONE OF SUPERGENE ENRICHMENT WITH CHRYSOCOLLA, ANTLERITE, BROCHANTITE, CUPRITE (?), TENORITE (?) AND CHALCOCITE WAS EXPLOITED. BELOW 85 M, PRIMARY SULFIDE ORE OF LOW GRADE APPEARS.
