  • THE IMPORTANT DEPOSITS ARE ONVERDACHT, PARANAM, RORAC, AND PARA ALONG THE SURINAM AND PARA RIVERS. THE LARGEST PLATEAU DEPOSITS ARE IN THE NASSAU AND BAKHUIS MOUNTAINS.

Deposit MOST DEPOSITS ARE 10 TO 20 FOOT CAPPINGS ON LOW FLAT-TOPPED HILLS AND ARE OVERLAIN BY ONLY A THIN VENEER OF SAND, CLAY AND SEDIMENTARY ROCK. BUT SOME DEPOSITS ARE COVERED BY AS MUCH AS 80 FEET OF CLAY.
