Deposit	HOST (SOURCE ROCK) IS A PEBBLE CONGLOMERATE FOUND IN PINK QUARTZITES (UPPER LAVRAS) AT MORRO DO CHAPEU. DISTRIBUTION OF HOST IS WIDE BUT ERRATIC HORIZONTALLY AND VERTICALLY. HOST CONGLOMERATE ARE WELL ROUNDED PEBBLES AND COBBLES OF MILKY QUARTZ IN MATRIX OF HEMATITIC QUARTZITE. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE ARGILLITE CONGLOMERATE CARRIES DIAMONDS, AND THAT MANY OF ITS DIAMONDS ON THE PLANALTO ARE RESIDUAL FROM EROSION OF THE ARGILLITE CONGLOMERATE WHICH ONCE COVERED THE WHOLE AREA.
