| Deposit | AN ASBESTOS DEPOSIT ABOUT 21 KM N.E. OF ITABERABA ON THE FAZENDA TESTA BRANCA OCCURS IN ASSOCIATION WITH ULTRABASIC ROCK. THE HOST IS LAYERED WITH MANY ASBESTOS FIBER LAYERS STRIKING N30E, DIPPING 70 S.E. THE FIBERS ARE SHORT, 5MM LONG. THE PERIDOTITE IN THE AREA IS ABOUT 300 METERS IN DIAMETER, BUT 30 DRILL HOLES HAVE BEEN PUT DOWN, A GEOLOGIC MAP AND REPORT PREPARED AND FILLED WITH THE DNPM. A COMPANY BROUGHT IN STONE FOR THE FOUNDATION OF A MILL, BUT ABANDONED THE WORK WHEN BETTER ASBESTOS WAS FOUND NEAR GOIAS. |
