Comments on the production information

  • $25 MIL. MODERNIZATION AND EXPANSION PROJECT AT STARITRG STARTED '72. WAS EXPECTED TO BE OPERATIONAL IN '75 AT 1 MIL TPY ORE RISING TO 3 MIL TPY BY '77 (BU MINES MIN YBK '72 V III P. 888. '73 V. I P. 697). ORE GRADE FOR ENTIRE TREPCA COMPLEX IN 1972 WAS 2.46% PB, 1.68% ZN. ITEM 3 - ZVECAN CAPACITY IS LISTED AS ONLY 60,000 MTPY PB SMELTED METAL. CONCENTRATE PRODUCTION, ESPECIALLY ZN, HAS LAGGED BEHIND REFINERY CAPACITY IN RECENT YEARS, IN PART DUE TO THE LOWER GRADES OF ORE BEING MINED. KOSOVSKA MITROVICA CAPICITY IS 36,000 MTPY ZN, 100 MTPY CD, 68,000 MTPY H2SO4. ZORKA PLANT IS 25,000 MTPY ZN. PB SMELTER CAPACITY FOR THE COUNTRY AS A WHOLE IS OFTEN STATED AS 210,000 MTPY (AM. MET. MARK. 6 - 4 - 73). THIS REPORTER HAS BEEN ABLE TO ACCOUNT FOR ONLY 110,000 MTPY (ZVECAN 60,000, TITOV VELES (SASA ZLETOVO) 35,000 AND CELJE (MEZICA) 15,000.
