  • GEOL.DESC: PREDOMINANT ROCK IS WHITE MARBLE. SLATE AND IGNEOUS ROCK, WITH DIKES OF DIORITE AND PORPHYRY OCCUR WITHIN MARBLE. THREE PERIODS OF MINERALIZATION ARE RECOGNIZABLE IN THE MINE; EARLIEST OF PYRITE, SECOND OF ARGENTIFEROUS GALENA AND SPHALERITE WITH SOME PYRITE, THE LAST, QUARTZ WITH SUBORDINATE AMOUNTS OF GALENA AND ARGENTIFEROUS TETRAHEDRITE.
