  • GEOL.DESC: MANGANIFEROUS RED OR PURPLE CHERT EXPOSURES SEPARATED BY GREENSTONE IN BETWEEN. CHERT STRIKES N 60 E AND DIPS 45 N. IT STRIKES INTO SERPENTINE 600 FT. S.W. OF PIT, AND IS SURROUNDED BY GREENSTONE ELSEWHERE. CHERT IS STAINED WITH MANGANESE OXIDE, AND IN PLACES A SMALL AMOUNT OF OXIDE PENETRATES CHERT. PRIMARY ORE IS APPARENTLY BROWN MANGANESE CHERT.
