OPERATION AFTER 1950 CAN ONLY BE REPORTED AS HIAWATHA GROUP OPERATION, WHICH INCLUDED HIAWATHA #1 AND #2, AND CHATHAM MINES (SEE SEPARATE REPORTS), AND WAS FINALLY EXHAUSTED IN 1967. FORMERLY OPERATED BY MONROE IRON MINING CO., LATER BY HANNA IRON ORE CO. WORKED BY STOPING METHOD UNDERGROUND.
