  • SINCE 1970 OPEN CAST MINING IN THE WESTERN PART OF THE DEPOSIT. DESIGNED SURFACE MINING IN THE WESTERN PLUS EASTERN PART OF THE DEPOSIT, SIZE 500 M X 300 M DOWN TO 100 M. UNDERGROUND MINING WILL FOLLOW. IN 1975, THE CUTOFF GRADE WAS UPPED FROM 0.35% NI TO 0.4% NI. FOR UNDERGROUN MINING THE CUTOFF GRADE IS EXPECTED TO BE 0.7% NI.

Deposit IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE MINERALIZATION GOES DOWN TO 800 TO 1000 METER.
Deposit LTHE CONCENTRATES ARE SMELTED AT HARJAVALTA. THE MINE WAS CLOSED AT THE END OF 1982 DUE TO LOW NI PRICES AND REOPENED IN JUNE, 1984. THIS RECORD CONTAINS DATA FROM RECORD M046586 WHICH HAS BEEN DELETED FROM THE DATABASE.
