ORCOPAMPA DISTRICT WORKED INTERMITTENTLY SINCE SPANISH COLONIAL PERIOD; ABANDONED IN 1842 BECAUSE OF FLOODING; CLAIMED BY DON MATEO MONAN IN 1879 AND BY 1910 DON OSCAR HEEREM OBTAINED CLAIMS AND FORMED THE SINDICATO WHICH ATTEMPTED TO DRAIN MINE. PRE-EARLY 1980'S DISTRICT PRODUCTION AT 500 T/D SILVER ORE; IN EARLY 1980'S AFTER DISCOVERY OF CALERA VEIN CONC. CAPACITY INCREASED TO 1200 T/D.
