  • IN 1913, SEVERAL SHAFTS AND CROSS CUTS HAD BEEN SUNK. IN 1974, ABOUT TEN CAVED PITS AND A CAVED SHAFT WERE EVIDENT.

  • ACCORDING TO TABER (1913) ALL WORK UP UNTIL THAT TIME HAD BEEN SUPERFICIAL WITH ONLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF ORE HAVING BEEN MINED.

Deposit VEINLETS ASSOCIATED WITH PEGMATITE (?) AND METAQUARTZITE. QUARTZ VEIN (NON-AURIFEROUS) NEARBY CONTAINING SPECULAR HEMATITE . A HIGHLY FERRUGINOUS QUARTZITE BED 2.5 M (8 FT) OR MORE IN THICKNESS IS ALSO CLOSE BY. THE QUARTZITE IS CUT BY QUARTZ VEINLETS 2.5 TO 5 CM (1 TO 2 IN) IN WIDTH.
