  • ORIGINAL WORKINGS CONSISTED OF A 12-M (40-FT) SHAFT AND AN OPENCUT AND TUNNEL IN A ROCKY LEDGE KNOWN AS COTTAM ROCK. IN 1978 AN OPENCUT ON THE NORTH-NORTHWEST SLOPE OF RAVENSDEN ROCK COULD STILL BE SEEN AND THERE WAS ALSO A 6-M LONG (20-FT) TUNNEL ENDING IN A 2-M HIGH (7-FT) OPENING WHICH CONTAINED WATER AND DEBRIS. A LARGE HILLSIDE DUMP CONTAINED SMALL AMOUNTS OF NATIVE COPPER AND MALACHITE STAINING.

Deposit MINERALIZATION OCCURRED AS IRREGULAR MASSES OF NATIVE COPPER AND BORNITE IN EPIDOTIZED BASALT. MALACHITE STAINING WAS ALSO PRESENT IN CONSIDERABLE AMOUNTS IN THE ROCK.
