Comments on the workings information

  • MINE CONSISTED OF A NUMBER OF SHAFTS AND PITS. ONE SHAFT WAS 12 TO 15 M (40 TO 50 FT) DEEP, BUT WAS RECENTLY FILLED IN BY MR. MOODY. THIS WAS THE ONLY WORKING FOUND, EXCEPT FOR SEVERAL POSSIBLE PROSPECT PITS. LOCAL RESIDENTS SAID SOME SHAFTS HAD DRIFTS LEADING OFF FROM THEM.

Comments on development

  • MINE WAS REPORTED TO HAVE BEEN WORKED BEFORE THE CIVIL WAR, IN THE 1920'S, 1930'S, AND 1940'S. IT WAS SHUTDOWN IN THE EARLY 1940'S DUE TO FLOODING IN THE MINE WORKINGS. AMOUNT OF PRODUCTION IS UNKNOWN, BUT SMALL.
