  • PROSPECT WAS WORKED BY NUMEROUS PITS AND SEVERAL SHAFTS, THE DEEPEST ONE WAS BETWEEN 21 M (70 FT) AND 24 M (80 FT.). IN FEB, 1988, TWO OPENINGS WERE OBSERVED. THE NORTHERNMOST OPENING IS A CAVED SHAFT, 12' X 12' AND 7' DEEP WITH A 1 FOOT DIAMETER SYCAMORE TEEE AND HIGH RIM DUMP WITH FRAGMENTS OF BIOTITE SCHIST AND ARPHIBOLE GNEISS. WATER-FILLED SHAFT 35' TO THE SOUTH IS ABOUT 15' X 12' WITH ANOTHER HIGH (6') RIM DUMP. TWO SMALL FRAGMENTS OF WHITE BARITE WERE OBSERVED.

  • THE PROPERTY WAS WORKED BY PITS AND SHAFTS. BARITE WAS REPORTED TO HAVE BEEN MINED HERE BY WATSON (1915) AND BY EDMUNDSON (1938) WHO STATES THAT A 0.9 M (3.0 FT) THICK VEIN OF BARITE WAS MINED IN THE DEEPEST SHAFT.). EUNICE FISHER STATED THAT AROUND 1911, JACK BARTON, WHO WAS OPERATING THE MINE, RAN OFF WITH THE MONEY.

Deposit THICKNESS OF THE ORE VARIED BUT WAS REPORTED TO BE 0.9 M (3.0 FT) WHERE WORKED IN THE DEEP SHAFT. THE ORE WIDENED AND NARROWED SHARPLY AND FREQUENTLY. THE DIP WAS VARIABLE, BUT AVERAGED 45 DEG SE.
