  • NO MINERALIZATION NOTED. TOP AND SOUTH SLOPE OF CAVE HILL IS ROME FORMATION. CAVE HILL IRON FURNACE ON A NOW DRY TRIBUTARY OF DRY RUN IS 0.3 MI SW OF PRESUMED LOCATION OF TAYLEOR PROSPECT. THERE ARE EXTENSIVE CUTS AT THE CAVE HILL IRON MINE. IRON AND MANGANESE MINERALS NOTED IN OLD IRON WORKINGS; OPEN CUTS IN WOODS 6000 FEET WSW OF THE PRESUMED LOCATION OF THE TAYLOR PROSPECT.

  • SOME DIAMOND DRILLING SAID TO HAVE BEEN CONDUCTED BY NEW JERSEY ZINC CO. IN 1960'S (?) ON CAVBE HILL WITH UNKNOWN BUT PRESUMABLY DISCOURAGEING RESULTS.

Deposit NO MINERALIZATION NOTED AT TIME OF VISIT. CURRIER (1935, P.105) DESCRIBES "VERY DARK COLORED DOLOMITE BEDS NEAR TOP OF SHADY", AND "SPHALERITE PRESENT IN A BRECCIA OF WHITE DOLOMITE AND QUARTZ."
