Deposit FIRST KNOWN AS THE AZTEC MINING CO., WHICH BEGAN PRODUCTION IN 1852. REORGANIZED IN 1863. THE MINE WAS BOUGHT IN 1871 BY P.T. ROGERS, THEN SOLD TO A DR. HUSSEY IN 1880 AND A NEW COMPANY WAS ORGANIZED. WORK WAS DISCONTINUED IN 1882. THE SOUTH LAKE MINING CO. WAS ORGANIZED IN 1909, AND PRODUCTION WAS FROM 1915-1918. 1915-1918. 686.375 LBS. OF CU CONC. FROM AZTEC (1852-1882) AND 1,042,211 LBS CU CONC. AT 14.98 LBS CU/TON FROM SOUTH LAKE (1915-1918).
