| Deposit | MANGANESE OCCURS AS NODULES AND THIN SEAMS IN REDDISH AND OCHER COLORED CLAY. THE CLAY ALSO CONTAINS SMALL FRAGMENTS OF CHERT. BRECCIA FLOAT OF THE ANTIETAM QUARTZITE CEMENTED WITH MANGANESE OXIDES CAN BE FOUND EXTENDING UP TO THE TOP OF THE RIDGE WHERE SEVERAL PROSPECT PITS HAVE BEEN SUNK. |
