  • WORKINGS CONSISTED OF A TUNNEL, NOW CAVED, ON THE NORTHWEST SLOPE AND A SHAFT ON THE SOUTHEAST SLOPE. IN 1982, A CAVED TUNNEL, 8 PITS, AND DUMPS WERE SEEN. ONE OF THE PITS ON THE SOUTHWEST END OF THE HILL, ATAN ELEVATION OF ABOUT 381 M (1250 FT), MAY HAVE BEEN THE SHAFT NOW CAVED.

Deposit THE DUMP CONTAINS SOME CHERT AND SANDSTONE FRAGMENTS WITH MANGANESE STAINS AND CRUSTS. BOTH THE TUNNEL AND SHAFT WERE REPORTEDLY IN RESIDUAL CHERT OF THE NEW SCOTLAND LIMESTONE.
