  • ORIGINAL WORKINGS CONSISTED OF 3 SHAFTS, 1 TUNNEL, AND SEVERAL PITS. IN 1982, 3 CAVED SHAFTS AND NUMEROUS CAVED PITS WERE SEEN. MANGANESE ORE IS ABUNDANT ON THE DUMPS AROUND THE SHAFTS AND ALSO IN THE ROCK OUTCROPS IN THE SHAFT WALLS. TUNNEL WAS NOT FOUND: IT WAS ORIGINALLY 84 M (275 FT) LONG.

  • MINE WAS WORKED BEFORE 1922. 3 SHAFTS WERE SUNK BEFORE KAYLOR-FLEMING MANGANESE CO. LEASED THE PROPERTY AND MADE THE TUNNEL.
