  • AS OF VISIT (PROBABLY BY JOHN C. BRANNER, STATE GEOLOGIST) IN 1892, WORKINGS CONSISTED OF 2 OPENINGS: ONE OPEN CUT 30X12 FEET BY 8 FEET DEEP ON THE INNER FACE, AND A SHALLOW SHAFT 5 OR 6 FEET DEEP. CUT IS NEARLY ALL IN EARTH. A SECOND SHAFT WAS FOUND TEN FEET DOWN THE SLOPE FROM THE OPEN CUT, ALL OF IT IN CLAY; SPHALERITE IS SHOWN BEST IN RIGHT SIDE OF THE CUT.
