Comments on the geologic information

  • MINOBRAS (p. A-8) says:"Past production, uranophane in limonte-stained claystone-sandstone in the North Park Fm.(?) (Miocene) some assays show 0.32% U3O8." But RME-3125 says Browns Park Formation.

General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit Although Bull. 50 describes Ketchum Buttes as being in sec. 9, it mentions the western-most "Butte" which the topo shows in sec. 8. Bull 50 goes on to describe a prospect pit which is very likely the prospect shown on the topo on the west-most butte. "A small prospect pit shows uranium mineralization in 3-ft. thick limonite-stained claystone. A 3 ft. channel sample in the claystone assayed 0.32% U3O8." (Bull, 50, p. 210)
