  • STARTED AS TEST PITS IN 1872. ONE PASSED THROUGH 68' OF SOFT ROCK AND SEVERAL FEET OF ORE. BY 1875 ONE PIT WAS MADE INTO A SHAFT 90' DEEP. DRIFTS 200'; SW PIT ALSO CHANGED TO SHAFT; 1890 A NEW SHAFT FOUND AN ORE DEPOSIT 6 FEET THICK; SEVEN PITS, 2 OF WHICH ARE 15' X 5' DEEP ARE STILL VISABLE WITH LIMONITE ON SURFACE (1985)

  • NO WORK WAS DONE FROM 1875 TO 1890. IN 1890 PROSPECTING WAS RESUMED BUT MINE CLOSED SHORTLY AFTERWARDS
