  • IN 1868 ORE WAS REMOVED FROM A SHAFT FOR A DISTANCE OF 500 FEET ALONG THE VEIN AND AT PLACES TO A DEPTH OF 125 FEET. DEPOSIT CONSISTED OF A CURVED SHOOT. AFTER MINE CLOSED THE ORE REMAINING IN THE SHOOTS WAS MORE CONVENIENTLY REACHED FROM THE WELCH AND SLOPE NO. 3 OPENINGS. 1985 2 SHAFTS 50 FEET IN DIAMETER BY 20 FEET WITH LARGE WASTE PILES ARE VISIBLE

  • THE WESTERN END OF THE VEIN WAS WORKED DURING THE LATTER PORTION OF THE 18TH CENTURY BY OPEN PITS, A LARGE NUMBER WERE STILL VISIBLE IN 1868
