  • 1870-71 2 SHAFTS SUNK, ONE TO 140 FEET. 100 YDS W-NW OF THESE TWO SHAFTS, A SHAFT 30 FEET DEEP WAS SUNK. IN 1977 THE SHALLOW W-NW SHAFT MEASURED 20 FT IN DIAMETER BY 7 FEET DEEP LOCATED NORTH OF A NEW HOME. IT WAS FILLED IN DURING CONSTRUCTION. IN 1985 2 DEPRESSIONS FROM THE LARGER SHAFTS ARE STILL EVIDENT WITH TAILINGS PILES CONTAINING MAGNETITE IN A PINK GRANITE
