  • COPPER ORE FROM SHAFT; WHEN VISITED IN 3/87, SOME MINE DUMPS ARE PRESENT IN A SMALL PATCH OF WOODS. COPPER MINERALS MALACHITE AND CRYSOCOLLA ARE EVIDENT. AZURITE, EPIDOTE, AND LIBETHENITE ARE REPORTEDLY PRESENT ON THE DUMPS.

Comments on development

  • ON MARCH 22, 1880, ONE CARLOAD OF ORE HAD BEEN SHIPPED TO BALTIMORE AND 6 MEN WERE WORKING IN THE SHAFT AT THAT TIME. SMELTER WOULD BE ERECTED SOON. AT THIS TIME A "RICH VEIN OF SILVER" WAS REPORTEDLY DISCOVERED.
