| Deposit | ACCORDING TO STOSE AND STOSE (1957), BARITE BLOCKS WERE FOUND ON THE SURFACE AND THE VEIN LIES AT THE CONTACT OF SHEARED GRANITE GNEISS AND A PORPHYRITIC PHYOLITE DIKE. THE CLEAVAGE OF THE VEIN WAS THE SAME AS THAT OF THE COUNTRY ROCK, N 30 E. |
| Deposit | STOSE AND STOSE (1957) DESCRIBED THE BARITE OCCURRENCE AND IDENTIFIED IT AS A BARITE PROSPECT ON THEIR GEOLOGIC MAP, BUT STATED NO PROSPECTING HAD BEEN DONE BEFORE 1938. A FIELD EXAMINATION OF THE AREA WAS CONDUCTED, AND NO WORKINGS NOR BARITE FLOAT WAS FOUND. THEREFORE, THE EXACT LOCATION IS KNOWN. THE LOCATION IS ESTIMATED FROM THAT SHOWN BY STOSE AND STOSE (1957). THE PROPERTY OWNER WAS INTERVIEWED. HE DID NOT KNOW OF ANY PROSPECTING ON THE PROPERTY, AND COULD NOT RECALL HEARING ANY STORIES FROM OTHER RELATIVES (MCLEANS). APPARENTLY, THIS REPORTED OCCURRENCE WAS NEVER FURTHER DEVELOPED AND PROSPECTED. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 3 FIELD OBSERV; 5 PERS COMM |
