  • THE BEND DEPOSIT IS HOSTED BY A FELSIC CENTER LOCATED STRUCTURALLY ALONG THE SOUTHERN MARGIN OF A MAJOR VOLCANIC ARC AND WITHIN A BACK-ARC BASIN. REGIONAL METAMORPHISM THAT DEVELOPED DURING INTENSE FOLDING HAS OVERPRINTED THE ORIGINAL VOLCANIC AND SEDIMENTARY ROCK UNITS IN THE PRECAMBRIAN TERRANES OF NORTHERN WISCONSIN.

  • IN 1995, SIX EXPLORATORY HOLES WERE DRILLED AT BEND. ; ECON.COM: ORIGINALY DISCOVERED AS AN AEROMAGENTIC ANOMALY. DISCOVERED IN 1986 BY SHARPE ENERGY AND RESOURCES AND FREEWEST.

Deposit APPLICATION MADE FOR BLM PERFERNCE RIGHT LEASE. THE BULK OF THE DEPOSIT CONSISTS OF TWO STEEPLY DIPPING, STACKED, PROXIMAL MASSIVE AND SEMIMASSIVE SULFIDE LENSES DEVELOPED AT OR NEAR THE STRATIGRAPHIC TOP OF AN ALTERED QUARTZ-CRYSTALL FELSIC TUFF UNIT. THIS IS A CU-TYPE VOLCANOGENIC MASSIVE DEPOSIT FORMED IN THE BACK-ARC BASIN SEQUENCE.
Deposit THE DEPSOIT IS LOCATED IN THE CHEQUAMEGON NATIONAL FOREST. LADYSMITH-RHINELANDER VOLCANIC COMPLEX IS COVERED BY GLACIAL DEPOSITS UP TO 200 FT THICK, AND BEDROCK OUTCROPS ARE RELATIVELY RARE.
