  • THE ORE GENERALLY CONTAINS 25 TO 30 PERCENT FE. TESTS HAVE PRODUCED A CONCENTRATE CONTAINING ABOUT 63.2 PERCENT FE AND 10.37 PERCENT SIO2 BY MAGNETIC SEPARATION.

  • THE DEPOSIT CONSISTS OF TWO BODIES OF MAGNETITE TACONITE STRIKING ABOUT N75E AND DIPPING 65 S. THE EASTERN BODY IS 7,000 FT LONG AND 350 FT WIDE. THE WESTERN ORE BODY IS Y-SHAPED AND UP TO 1,300 FT WIDE AND ABOUT 3,500 FT LONG.

  • 19 HOLES DRILLED IN 1954-1957 BY JONES AND LAUGHLIN STEEL CORP. 14 MORE HOLES DRILLED IN 1963. TOTAL EXPLORED AREA WAS ABOUT 3 MILES LONG AND 600-800 FEET WIDE. AVERAGE IRON CONTENT WAS ABOUT 30-35% ; ECON.COM: A MAGNETIC ANOMALY WAS KNOWN IN THIS AREA LONG BEFORE THE PROPERTY WAS OPTIONED IN 1954 AND LEASED IN 1958 BY JONES AND LAUGHLIN STEEL CORP.
