Type of structure Local
Structure description Deposit spatially related to cross-cutting dacite dike

Controls for ore emplacement

  • Open space fillings and replacements in amygdaloidal flow tops

Comments on the geologic information

  • The main part of the deposit is spatially related to a dacite dike (up to 60 feet thick) which crosses the strike of the flowtops at about 10 degrees and dips about 10 degrees steeper. Chalcocite is found in 4 geologic environments: 1) amygdaloid -- chalcocite fills spaces between fragments in flowtop and to some extent within the fragments themselves (most of the reserve with better grades and continuity); 2) ophitic -- chalcocite in massive flow rock as open space filling along fractures; 3) dikes -- locally vesicles filled with chalcocite; and 4) calcite -- chalcocite occurs with calcite in veins.
