| Deposit | THE DEPOSIT OCCURS IN A NORTHWEST-TRENDING MINERALIZED FISSURE IN THE PORTAGE LAKE LAVA SERIES_. STEEPLY DIPPING VEINS CROSS THE BEDDING NEARLY AT RIGHT ANGLES. PREHNITE, CALCITE, AND NATIVE COPPER ARE GENERALLY THE MOST COMMON MINERALS IN THE FISSURES, LESS COMMONLY LAUMONTITE, NATIVE SILVER, EPIDOTE, QUARTZ, AND VARIOUS COPPER SULFIDES AND ARSENIDES. THE COPPER OCCURS AS SMALL AND LARGE MASSES, AS THIN SHEETS, AND AS DISSEMINATED GRAINS ON OR ADJACENT TO THE FISSURES. MUCH OF THE DISSEMINATED COPPER IS INTIMATELY ASSOCIATED WITH PREHNITE. |
